So, It's been a while since I've blogged last about math and I'm really trying to find out what fractions all mean. Does anyone know any real life situations where I could learn more about fractions?

Today I was confused about how to teach subtraction across the zeroes. I felt that most of my students were understanding the concept of regrouping, and "going next door" to borrow from a higher place value. But when I came to the subtracting across the zeroes with regrouping, there were some things that confused me! So I found a couple of videos to help me and my students understand subtraction across the zeros better.






This helped me show the process a little better and I liked the song :)

Rhombus!

I was talking with some other teachers and they said -can you believe it?- that even they had a hard time telling the difference between a square and a rhombus. I found another great song/video that may help us:)
